LAS VEGAS, NV (October 24, 2018) – Unbeaten super lightweight contender Juan Heraldez (14-0, 8 KOs) and North Carolina native Maynard Allison (11-3, 7 KOs) shared updates from their respective training camps as they prepare for their showdown on Saturday, October 27th from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas.
Coverage on Facebook Live begins at 5p.m. PT/8p.m. ET and also features talented prospects including Angelo Leo vs. Glenn Porras, Rolando Romero, Andres Cortes, and Dylan Bambercox all in separate bouts.
Tickets for the event, which is being promoted by Mayweather Promotions, begin at $15 and $30, are on sale now at: www.samstownlv.com/entertain.
Heraldez, raised in Las Vegas, shared his thoughts on training camp at Mayweather Boxing Club with his trainer Otis Pimpleton, while Allison gave insight on his camp from Las Vegas at City Boxing Club with trainer Ul McHenry.
Here is what the fighters had to say:
How is training camp going? Have you made any recent adjustments to your camp?
Juan Heraldez: “Training camp has been good. I haven’t taken a break since my last fight in August, so I picked up where I left off last camp. Everything has been going great so far. Same routine, same process, same everything outside of me just being more focused on what I want to do and applying myself more is the only difference.”
Maynard Allison: “It’s been going really good. Nothing really new in my camp. I was supposed to fight in September, but it fell through, so I’ve been in camp and training ever since.”
What is your game plan going into this fight?
JH: “My game plan is to win, so it is always the same. I’m looking to put a performance on and show out. I’m not saying I’m looking to get a stoppage, but that would be nice because I haven’t got one in a couple years.”
MA: “We will box him, but also going to bring a lot of pressure and smart aggression. He looks like he has quick hands, but has slow feet and likes to box and take his time.”
What will be next for your career after October 27th?
JH: “I hope anyone in the 140 division that wants to step-up because I’m ready to step-up too.”
MA: “Hopefully another undefeated prospect, knock them off and try and get this world title.”
What can a win from this fight do for your career?
JH: “It can do a lot. I’m trying to show out and put a performance to prove that I’m ready to step-up.”
MA: “A win from this fight will take my career to another level. Take me to where I need to be, where I should’ve been.”
